The word Qabalah comes from the Hebrew �QBL� meaning �received teaching/tradition�. Qabalah is a truly ancient system that can be traced back thousands of years. The Qabalah is a vital and dynamic system of spiritual growth which is used widely within the Western Mystery Tradition today from the Golden Dawn to Wicca and contemporary neo-paganism. Qabalastic thought, symbolism and ideas are incorporated in both rituals and philosophies.

Talisman comes from the Greek telesma meaning consecrated or sacred object. Amulet comes from the Latin amuletum and refers more narrowly to objects with an apotropaic or protective function. Talismans represent the logical extension of a spiritual world view and have been a part of Western culture for thousands of years. Even full-fledged witches do not agree on the exact difference between amulets and talismans. (So much of witchcraft is based on tradition that some rules are a bit blurry.) However, everyone versed in the occult agrees on one thing: Whether they are called amulets or talismans, these objects are basic necessities in the practice of the Craft.

Herbalism uses natural remedies including plant herbs to heal. Herbalism tends to incorporate the idea of holistic medicine which uses the physical, mental and spiritual aspects to make one healthy. Herbalists use all manner of plant preparations and herbs to promote health and healing. This class will introduce how to grow herbs, identify them in the wild, how to combine and use them in herbal preparations and remedies, etc.

The term Aura refers to the energy field emanating from the surface of a person or object. This emanation is visualized as an outline of cascading color and may be held to represent soul vibrations, chakra emergence, or a reflection of surrounding energy fields. Each color represents a different aspect of that matter. Reading auras can be useful in helping you interact with the world. Everything has an aura but we have been "trained" not to see them. This class focuses on stimulating the chakras, which are responsible for the ability to “read” auras. With practice, they will grow in strength, and viewing auras will become progressively easier to do.

Join members and friends of theMoonPool Coven for our Bi-Monthly Celebration and Discussion group. Our class this week is Divination.

Divination is the practice of discerning the hidden significance of eventsand foretelling the future. Divination is found in all societies, ancient andmodern, through methods such as horoscopes, palm reading, and tarot cards.Other methods involve interpreting dreams, discovering omens in natural events,reading the behavior of animals, casting runes, and consulting oracles.Divination has long been viewed as the province of specially gifted persons,such as prophets, shamans, and magicians, however it is easily within the reachof all.

This is a wonderfully enriching,educational and fun circle. Learn about different ways of celebrating the turns of the Wheel of the Year, meet new people and learn to share personal experiences, stories, laughter and joy in the spirit of the seasons!

Class starts at 6PM, Open Circle at7:30PM. More details can be found at:

ExclamationStarEarly spring always seems to hold its own special magick, embodied in the celebration of Beltane!. The earth giving birth to life all around, the trees appear to be bursting into green so quickly that you can watch the leaves grow as they reach for the warmth of the sun after a long hard winter.

Once again we will be hosting the Sunday morning service at the UUC of Haverhill. Service starts at 10:30 followed by an indoor Maypole Dance and Celebration at coffee hour, all culminating with the coronation of the King and Queen of the Mayfair! Music, Laughter and Merriment for All!

You are encouraged to wear robes or ren-fair outfits for coffee hour, bring instruments or noise makers, and celebrate the season with friends and friends you have yet to meet!

Admission is a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry, and all are encouraged to bring a snack to share.

This looks again to truly be a Merry Meet!

On Saturday, March 19th, 2011, the Temple of Witchcraft in Salem, NH will be hosting their open Ostara Celebration. Here is an excerpt from their announcement:

"Ostara is a celebration of the vernal equinox, a time when light and dark are equal, but the light's power is steadily growing. Sacred to the Teutonic Goddess Ostre, many of our familiar celebrations of seeds, eggs, and rabbits originate with this pagan festival.

Come join the Temple of Witchcraft as we begin oursecond Wheel of the Year in Salem, NH, and bring the community together withthe Sun, Moon, and Earth to turn the Wheel and keep the balance of the cyclesof Nature and harmony with all worlds. All are welcome.

Please remember those less fortunate and bring anon-perishable food item (preferably a protein source) for donation to alocal Food Bank"


There has been a $15-$25 sliding scale donation requested as well.

The celebration is going to be held at the Salem Masonic Building, 107 Main Street, Salem, NH from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, but all are requested to arrive by 6:45 for check in. We will most likely be carpooling, so please RSVP ASAP so we can plan accordingly.
