Class & Circle-Service As Prayer
Sunday, April 29, 2012, 6:00 PM
UU Church of Haverhill
16 Ashland Street, Haverhill, MA
What if you had a house that had no doors, no windows, or no way to let in natural light? You would have electrical lights, but without sunlight it would begin to get depressing. A house without windows and doors becomes more like a dungeon than a healthy living space. In the same way we are called to serve others, not through our faith, but through our service by means of our faith. This service allows our light to shine. Using our gifts to serve others in love as an outward expression of inward connection.
We can profess our faith to others, recite spells and prayers, show up to circle, but our faith, our heart and our inward light will only shine when we set aside ourselves by serving others. Our service is the true window to our soul and one of the best testimonies of the world we wish to create.
Class begins at 6PM with Circle to follow

Cancelled - Sunrise Ostara, 3/25
Greetings,
Sorry to say but after conferring with our HPS we feel it best to cancel our celebration tomorrow. "They" are forecasting a 80%+ of showers tomorrow (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?hourly=1&query=03842&yday=84&weekday=Sunday) and it's not predicted to be a warm rain either.
I have tried watching the sunrise on the beach many times (sometimes even successfully) and it would go from being dark and wet to being not-quite-as-dark and wet. No visible Sun to worship. Been-there-done-that got the T-shirt.
We wouldn't be able to sing or tell our traditional stories as the papers would get wet and a lot of us wouldn't bring our instruments out to get ruined in the rain.
We recommend you all celebrate Ostara and the rebirth of Spring in whatever way feels right to you.
So, looking forward we will be doing something big for Beltain, be it with the UU service or elsewhere.
The Goddess giveth, the Goddess taketh away, Blessed Be the Goddess!
In her service,
Leoric

Happy New Year!
Greetings to old and new friends alike!
The MoonPool coven is a group that embraces the natural cycles of the universe. We are committed to inclusion, gender neutrality, healing, community building and empowerment. It is through our dedication to this path that we believe healing and magick happens! We are dedicated to spiritual growth, empowerment, fostering community and promoting healing change in ourselves and our world.
The MoonPool coven was set up and continues to be a teaching coven. Classes are provided free of charge twice a month, usually on Sunday evenings followed by an Open Circle. We offer these events to all respectful seekers, as well as Sabbats and coven membership for the committed. We are an eclectic group, drawing strength from many traditions and disciplines. Much of our power comes from our acceptance of diversity and our commitment to inclusion.
If you join, it is expected that you will attend some of our events! We send emails of all types but most are notices for upcoming events. Spammers will be dealt with!
There is no charge for our events but we do have opportunities to earn Karma points:
• First, the UUC of Haverhill does not charge us for the use of their facilities but we do accept Free Will Donations which we give to the church.
• Second, if you plan on attending we request that you bring a small snack or drink to share, if possible.
• Third, the church accepts non-perishable food items for the food pantry, and these can be brought to class/circle. Supplies for classes and circles are donated by members, as is the food provided for the Community Meals, and these are greatly appreciated.
If this sounds like something you may be interested in I again invite you to one of our open events to get to know us and see if we are on your spiritual path.
Be Blessed!
Merry Meet?

Songspell Class / General request
Greetings!
Last nite's class was extremely interesting, the gamut of personalities, the
spectrum of experience that was represented, truly engaging! I was amazed that
for the first time since we moved to the UUC of Haverhill, there were MORE new
people there than members! We have always strived for "quality over quantity" in
our membership, but last night has to indicate at least some success in our
public service goals.
In response to some of the questions I received last nite, I am asking people if
they would BRIEFLY recommend their favorite pagan artist or author. I ask that
you submit only ONE, with their name, their book or song title, and why you
chose it/them as your favorite. We continually have newbies attend our circles
and this is a common request. Your submission will assist us in getting a wider
range of views.
Please forward your submissions by replying to this email or your response may get lost.
Thank you in advance and Be Blessed!

Samhain Witches Ball & Dumb Supper, Sat Oct 29 2011
Join members and friends of the MoonPool Coven for our 4th Annual Witches' Ball and Dumb Supper! This is a wonderful way to celebrate Samhain in a traditional way while having a great time!
The evening will start with a costume party from 8PM - 11PM. We will have music, refreshments and contest, including costume contest and prizes!
After the party those who wish (and ALL are invited) can stay for a short ceremony honoring family & friends who have passed, culminating with a traditional Witches' Dumb Supper.
Admission to the Party is a non-perishable item for donation to the local food pantry, or a pot-luck dish to share at the party. Free will donations are always welcome.
Children are welcome to the Party but due to the late hour would not be encouraged to attend the ritual. The Dumb Supper will require all in attendance to refrain from speaking during the meal.

Merry Meet!
The MoonPool Coven was started over 10 years ago by a group of friends who were looking to explore their spirituality together. We follow the by-laws established by the original founders. Our mission is very similar to that of the UUCH, “To assist each member in their spiritual growth”. Our members follow many different “Earth-Based” traditions and our rituals reflect this diversity.
Early in 2008 we moved from the UU Church in Billerica Ma to Haverhill and have been overwhelmed with the support and encouragement we have received.
Our twice monthly Open Circles have expanded to include class work for those looking to learn more. Classes usually begin at 6 PM with the Circle starting at 7 PM, usually on Sunday evenings. Traditional Pagan Holidays are observed including Yule (Winter Solstice) , Imbolc (Ground Hog day) , Ostara (Easter) Lughnasadh (First Harvest) and Samhain (Halloween) . Our services hearken back to an earlier time, when people were more in tune with the Earth and her changing cycles. Our beliefs reflect natural laws that existed long before formalized religions and still exist today.
If you are interested in learning more we suggest that you attend a few of our open events, get to know us,let us get to know you, see if there is a good fit.
In past years we have participated in events sponsored by other local covens, supported Pagan Pride Days in both Ma and NH, and recently enjoyed our first Midsummer cookout. We look forward to even more participation as we go forward. Everyone is always welcome to attend.

Ostara & Beltane
Greetings!
Just coming from the installation of Rev. Clarkson to permanent minister of the UUC of Haverhill, I must say it was both gratifying and disturbing. Although it was gratifying to participate in such a momentous occasion, and anyone who is familiar with the recent history of the church will appreciate how far it has come, it was still a little disturbing. The part that was disturbing had to do with the visiting ministers from surrounding parishes. I attended the Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast a little over a month ago along with invited members from a local Baptist Church. Although all in attendance were cordial and grateful, I still got the feeling that the tolerance was somewhat strained with the displaying of my pentacle.
I do not wish to be negative, I bring this up only to point out that we soon have an opportunity to bring about some understanding. First, the entire church congregation is invited to our Sunrise Ostara Celebration on March 22nd. Also, the Coven is scheduled to run the regular church service (at my request) on May 3rd, and I have chosen to present a Beltane celebration and discussion. This is a chance to present ourselves in a new light, to show the predominantly Christian (but tolerant) UU members what this quiet group working within their church is all about, and why they should care.
I hope there will be participation from the local Pagan Community (members or not) and invite others to contact me if you wish to help or participate. Please see the following sites for more details, and Many Blessings!
